I lost my right-click on the start menu
Lost my Open & Explore when I right click the start button, haven't tried to use it in some time, but the only thing I have done to the computer since the last time I used it was install Tweak UI from the Win98 cd. That was after reading in this NG what a one-time-good-deal it is. I installed looked at it and that

WIN XP SP2, OUTLOOK EXPRESS 6.0
I can run all my programs from desk-top icons, from the Windows Explorer screen, or by right clicking the start button (which is not as convenient as the start menu itself). The only thing unavailable to me (I think) is Shut-down (which I have to get from Ctrl-Alt-Del). I am using MS Windows 95 Ver 4.00.950r-7.

Yet, when I am in IE6 and click on Favorites, all of the information is still there. GUESTION? ? ? ? How can I get the Favorites back into the Favorites category on my START MENU???? Lost short cut for wimdows mail
but it won't let me open the start menu & task bar feature. I can open this feature from other profiles though. First, you can use Ctrl+Esc to bring up the Start Menu if your keyboard does not have the Windows key on it. Second, the taskbar may have been dragged to any edge of the screen.

Now I find that suddenly I have Program Manager back as my shell. No more start button, desktop icons, or task bar. When I comment out the shell=progman.exe in win.ini I get a completely empty desktop and the only way to do get something done is by double-clicking the desktop, thus activating the Task Manager.

I've always liked turned based RPGs, probably because I got my start with paper and dice games way, way, way back in the day. Second, people that hate Japanese There was one turn-based RPG that allowed you to press a button at a specific time and partially block an attack. It was on one of the Nintendo systems.

So I power down, reconnect the Atapi Zip drive and the system boots just fine.... but only to discover that now it has LOST my CDRW ! The start menu was absolutely obliterated. Games and system tools were were now located under the first column of 'program's and all customization was destroyed.

LOST MY DESLTOP AND START MENU
Try right-clicking the start button, properties, customize, advanced. See if control panel is still selected to be shown on the start menu. If not, select it and apply\okay your way out. Incidentally, you can also get to control panel via RUN, type "control" in the box (no quote marks).
